Vector Art Contest: Self
The Vector Community is full of portraits and pieces of men and women... of people we know, people we know of and people we admire. If there is one person we should know most of is ourselves.
If you're a vector artist, this is the contest for you. We're asking you to create a self portrait. You can take this theme in many ways... you could simple vector a photograph of yourself, you could create a piece which is representative of who you are or even create a vector character of how you see yourself, it is open for your own imagination to play with! Remember often a portrait is more than just a representation of a photograph!
As part of the vector contest, it is my pleasure to confirm CrisVector will be helping me with judging all the contest pieces! Both of us have experience in vector portraits as well as creating our own vector self portraits.
Things are super busy at the moment. As you know, we've been recruiting for 2 new positions into the CEA Team for a while. After weeks of interviews, tasks and presentations, we've sent out offers to 2 deviants who will soon be joining the team. I have to say that this round of recruitment attracted the most amazingly high standard of applicants, and it was not an easy task to make our final decisions! Over 200 people applied for the positions and it was really inspiring to speak with so many people who have such evident ambition and talent within our community.
During the recruitment process, we gave the final round of applicants a task to make a presentation to us about what they felt was an appropriate piece of community outreach that the CEA should undertake. I was really impressed by all the ideas and I'm really looking forward to expanding upon some of the ideas to make them part of our regular CEA projects.
Nine TimesI saw him nine times.
The first time we were both sitting in the room together, getting ready to take the math test that would determine our placement. I was scatterbrained and throwing things around, trying to find the pencils that I had known I would need but had still just tossed in my purse. He was lounging backwards in his chair, looking for all the world as though he didn’t have a single care in the world, including the upcoming test. It annoyed me, that I was frantic and ready to scream, while someone else could be that relaxed.
I tested out of the class.
I don’t know if he did.
The second time I saw him, it was a few months after I arrived on campus. He was the one rushing and frantic this time, running across the square. He was probably late for class, though I had no way of knowing for sure. I was already lost in my own thoughts and ideas, deciding on my major and convincing people that yes, this is what I really want to do with my life. If they weren
